Yeah, speed has some advantages, but by reducing weight to gain speed you usually loose energy not gain it. Most bows I have seen test results show they are more effecient with heavier arrows meaning sticking with heavier hunting arrows and such will result in more energy at impact than the exact same bow with a lighter arrow and lighter broadheads (although the difference is small). Also heaver setup means less noise and usually better accuracy, but not as flat shooting as a light setup. There are tons of advantages and disadvantages. I have a '05 Reflex Bucksin wich has an IBO of 306fps, the fastest in reflexes lineup at the time. Shooting at 70#, 28" draw with 27" beaman ICS elite 340carbons and 125gr muzzies its shooting right at 249fps. I am trying amuch lightersetup with CX 3d selects and 75gr muzzies but I havent got the arrows made up yet. So far the Bemans and 125gr muzzies havent had a problem puttin deer down quick. I have only shot 1 larger size deer with it, the one in the avatar at 145# field dressed, didnt have to track him.

The guy at the bowshop said his son was getting 281fps with a 26.5 inch draw @ 62lbs
he`s either lying or he`s shooting a 180 grain arrow - My black knight is the fastest production bow ever made, and I highly doubt it would even do that at that draw length with an ibo arrow(5-grains per pound)

I too had short draw (25"). My Tech29 shoots around 230fps on a 25", 60#, and 350 grains. I just bought an Equalizer and still in the process of setting it up. It should be faster than my Tech29, I hope.

get a bowtech equalizer, they are made specifically for short drawed archers. a girl on bowtechs website a while ago had a 30 lb. draw weight equalizer and shot a doe at 25 yards and got a complete pass through. the equalizers are nice, i was going to get one but i have a 27.5 inch draw length and im only 15.
