Are my arrows too heavy?
My arrows total out at about 446 grains with broadheads....Is that too much arrow for a deer? I'm kicking those suckers out there pretty quick too, with a 06 Fred Bear Whitetail Quest, set at around 65 to 68 lbs. I shoot a full size block target, and my arrow impact knocks it back a good 3 or 5 inches each shot at 35 yards, so I think it's hitting pretty hard.....I guess I'm worried about beingtoo slow and too heavy. I don't want to switch to a lighter arrow or broadhead and be too light though.
Thoughts? Similar quandries?

Sounds like a great setup to me. I shoot 264 fps with 434 grain arrows out of my Trykon set at 67 pounds. I have blown thru 2 deer already this year and will be after more in about a week. Niether deer moved before the arrow got there. One was at 8 yards and the other was at 17. Ain't bowhunting great.

I shoot 572 grains at 268 and I have very little problem with penetration. The doe I shot last night from 31 yards was a passthrough and the arrow was in the dirt about 8 inches. Having a heavy is not a bad thing, especially if the wind is a little strong or you are shooting tough critters. You have plenty of speed with that weight, so enjoy it!

What kind of bow are you shooting that launches a 572 grain arrow at 268fps? That's 91 pounds of KE.
Mine weigh 497 grains and are going 273fps.
A heavy arrow is a good thing. Too many people try to get an arrow as light as possible and then wonder why they got very little penetration when they accidentally hit a shoulder.

BigBulls, I thinkhe said his arrow is 446 gr with the BH's. Although I would like to shoot the setup that you mentioned that would be sweetness!! I agree I'm definitely in favor of a heavier setup!

I shoot a heavy arrow too. Maybe I get 220Fps. I could go lighter or switch to carbons but I see no reason for it. The indians would have been jealous of my speed! I hit where I aim and my bow is quiet.
