The only boot I've seen like this is the Rocky ProHunter.

I won't buy Rocky's ever again!
Bought a pair last year for over $130 and by the end of the season(4 mo)
the sole was falling off them from the center of the boot!! the Rockey dealer said it was from climbing up and down those tree spikes, and hasseled me about giving me my money back.I told them they were a hunting boot and what did he think people were going to do with them??duh!
He tried to exchange them for boots that were even more expensive!!!
And of course I would have to add a couple more bucks, but THEY were more durable!!
Finaly I asked for the manager, and he fully refunded my money!

Never had that problem with my Alpha Burly ,steel shanked rubber boots!!
3 years now!!

All I wear are Rocky's. I'm wondering if your experience wasn't just a fluke. My Rocky's have NEVER let me down. Sorry to hear about your experience though. The guy that sold you them sounds like a real tool.

The only reason I get a new pair is because of scent. I bought a pair of rubber this year so i dont have to worry about scent. I am worried about these cold ohio winters though. I'll let you know.
