Monster Fish at Clitnon Lake Opener
Did Bowfisher tell you about the great time he hadshootingall those monster fish at the newly opened Clinton Lake last nite. Clinton Lake opened officially for Bowfishing at 12:00:01 this morning. He was out there in his little canoe with a big car battery strapped to his canoe and a couple of car headlights duck taped to the gunnels. Any redneck bowfisher would be glad to have a setup like this. Wind gusts where only in the 30 to 40 mph range and ole' Bowfisher could really get that canoe a movin'. The DNR always said there where no really big gar in Clinton but ole' BOwfisher found the honey hole. He came in to this cove and there there they where. Gar everywhere. Up on the top just like in the summer, Must have been the 65 degrees temps we had today. He missed a big one, then another. Must have been the new PSE Kingfisher he got from Fred at F&D that he hashis hawg lite on. He adjusted the nockand wham bam, right on target. BIg ole' gar, then a bigger one. then here come a really big long nose. The grand daddy of all Clinton gar. Right between the eyes.59"inches long and 23#. Must be a new state record. Then when things are really getting good a big wind gust blows him in toanother cove. More wind than he can deal with so he goes with the flow right into Buffalo City. Big Buffs, really BIG BUFFS like he has never seen before. He heard there was a buffalo problem, but his is unreal. He shoots a small one maybe, 25#. then a 30#, then misses a small one may 20#. Then ole' Bowfisher line bores the biggest one he has ever saw, the new state record, a 54# buffalo that he can't even get into the boat. Did ole' Bowfisherforget to tell you that thisan April Fool's joke.
p.s. He will postpics in a few days.
