Knight Disc.50
Hello Everyone,
This is my first post and surely not the last.
Has anyone got the Knight Disc .50?
Started to buy the T/C Omega, but Bass Pro at Katty Mills near Houston had a great price on the Knight Disc .50.S/S Black Composit Stock.
So I ended up buying the Knight.
Now I need some good loads for the Knight Disc.50 for white tail deer here in Texas.
This is my first in-line muzzleloader,I've had a Cabel's .54 Hawkens for 15 years.
So help the new guy out, thanks

RE: Knight Disc.50
roger...I've had one for about 6 years..bought it on closeout at Bass Pro also..when they went from 22'" barrels to 24 and 26 inch barrels...mounted a Leupold VX-II 3x9x40...I have 2 good loads...When I first bought I used 2-50 gr Pryodex pellets and the 300gr Barnes copper bullets...It would group undrer 1 1/2 inches....I have since switched to the 250 T/C shockwaves and 90 grs loose Pyrodex RS...groups about 1 1/4 inches at 100...I went to the Shockwaves for better aerodynamics of that bullet...A buddy and I killed 5 deer with this bullet last year...no problems...
BTW...My buddies Knight prefers the Hornady 250 SSTs...My Knight prefers the T/C Shockwaves...the sabot is shorter on the T/Cs....it made about an inch difference in the groups at 100 yards...I have tried the 220gr Knight/Barnes all copper bullets, the 250 and 300 gr Hornady .451 pistol bullets, the 260 and 310 lead Knight bullets, the 220 Dead Center bullets, the 250 and 300gr Barnes copper bullets, the 295 Power Belts and the 250 and 300 gr Hornady SSTs in my gun...with all I tried from 90-120gr of loose Pyrodex and loose Triple Seven.....If your shots are within 125 yards the Power Belts, the 300gr Hornady pistol bullets and the 250 or 300 gr Barnes copper bullets with 90-110gr Triple Seven or loose Pyrodex are all good loads....I went to the T/C, and Hornady SSTs because I take a week each year and hunt in eastern NC over soybeans, corn, peanuts, etc...so I wanted a combination that was good to 150 yards...Good luck...nchawkeye
PS...I also clean between each shot...I don't foul the barrel before grouping...I use a spray bottle of plain rubbing alcohol and spray 3 patches, squeeze them so they are damp, not dripping wet...swab the barrel with both sides of the patch, then run a dry patch down and oil lightly with WD-40 or a good gun oil and then run another dry patch down the barrel to get out the excess oil and reload....
PPS...LOL....I also reuse the discs...3-4 times...If you will use the Winchester 209 primers...they are steel and come out of the disc pretty easily..just push out with a screwdriver....Then you can reuse them...I know Knight says not to...but I do...once you get up to hotter loads you might start to see signs of excessive pressure with the discs being deformed and the 209 primer caps blowing off....then back off your charge....I wouldn't go over 120 grains with either 777 or Pyrodex...mine won't give good groups with these higher charges....90-110 of either is plenty.

RE: Knight Disc.50
Recommend a very tight fitting sabot like the barnes expander. I like 250gr for deer. I have got great luck with 3-777 pellets and that sabot, and a 209 winchester primer.
My old standby load of 95gr of pyrodex and 240gr .45" XTP mag works real well too.
If you want high powered loads from loose powder, I have very good luck with the knight powerstem breach plug and 120gr of 777 and barnes expanders.
