Default Getting the itch for a new Ml, help !

I bought a T/C stainless Blck Diamond when they first came out and have been using it ever since. Have not experienced any trouble, use musket caps , 2 pellots of pyrodex and the black mag sabots Groups about an inch at 100 . I have hunted with this rifle in rain, show cold or hot it always goes bang.
I have heard or read many wonderful things about rifles shooting 209 primers and 150 grns of powder, long range etc. and was thinking I might get one(too many choices for a limited budget) so which one ? or do I really need a different rifle ?
I shot mine at the range in the rain last Tues and was able to kill one leiter bottles at 150 yds and shot a 2" group. Planning on going to North Mo. next Wed for the final 4 days of BP deer season (the weather is lousey up ther now and I'm old and can't take like I used too)
I guess what go me thinking was the neighbor showed me a Tc Omega and a Marlin model 50 he just traded for and the sure looked nice, he was heading out the door to hunt locally this afternoon.
What would you guys do, just use what I have or go into debt to get a rifle that shoots 209 primers?

There is very little that the fancy "long range" muzzleloader being offered can do that your Black Diamond can not match. I would save my money and buy more bullets and powder. I also have a Black Diamond XR and they are an excellent shooting rifle. I do not know of any rifle that could shoot better once you have the right load.

As for your powder charge, do not be in a big hurry to shoot 150 grains. Most of the rifles that shoot those large charges get terrible accuracy and they end up shooting 100 grains which is the same thing you do. Your powder charge is all you will need to get the job done. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.....

Keep the one you have or buy a Savage Smokeless ML-10.

Always wait one year when a new rifle model like the Revolution comes out. It takes about a year for "3-5 corrections" to occur on it. For instance: You should see the difference in the CVA Optima from when it hit the streets in May 2003 to the one they produced in May 2004. BPI made six alterations to the rifle. Pretty darn nice rifle now.

Then there's the issues involving safety. Before I decide to explode a rifle barrel right next to my face in a brand, spankin' new model, I'll let others do it while I watch for one year. Let others be the guinea pig/experimental study.... not you! The one year anniversary for the Revolution is around June of 05.

Sounds like I'd stick with what you have or traditional.

has an idea that really is good. You have experienced the modern rifles. You want to really have some fun, I think a old fashon sidelock is a great way to spend an afternoon shooting. It is a lot of fun to see how accurate you can get with them, and they will surprise you.

Triple Se7en... did you ever get that scope mounted on the Renegade .58 caliber? If you did, how does it shoot? That sure sounds like an interesting rifle... All I need is the mounts and a scope to do the same. But my rifle is such a sweet shooter I hate to mess with it.....
