Are the knight disc riffles easy to clean?

Compared to what? Being a Disc rifle there are more parts that need to be cared for and of course the breech plug and threads are not standing out in the open like on the Revolution, Persuit, Sidekick, Omega or Optima. I have never cleaned a Disc but have sure cleaned a Wolverine enough. Like any muzzleloader it takes time and care to get them all spotless and re-oiled and back together. It is a great shooting rifle from all I have read, it has a Green Mountian Barrel and a Timney trigger. You are not going to find that kind of quality on many rifles. I've never had to use it but have read that Knight has great customer services also. So if you have a little more time when cleaning the rifle, it sure sounds like a good choice for your muzzleloader to be.

cayugad, not that many parts. You take the bolt out, and breech out. Take the action out with one screw. Take the trigger out with another screw. Put your breech plug and part of your bolt into some solvent to soak. Scrub your barrel with soapy wather and brush. I do about 30 stroke or less. Run patches thru. Rinse with clear very hot water. Run some more patches thru until dry as a bone. Let sit to dry thoughly while you take a wire brush to the bolt handle and breech. clean out the beech hole. Wipe off the bolt spring. Oil everything and put back together.

i have a 45 super disc and a mk 85 in 50 cal. The mk85 is a lot easier to clean than the disc.

Yeah, compared to what? I have a Knight DISC Elite and it took me about 30-45 minutes to clean, for storage. Much less if I'm shooting the next day. But I don't mind putting the time into it.

Little D, you sure you have both these guns. I also have both these guns and cleaning is almost identical in every way. What do you find hard about it. Only difference is one you take out a allen head screw and pull the bolt, the other you unscrew the hammer.

Confused,

try it with one arm. The only problem i have with the mk85 is taking the breech plug out,i just have to use a vice. The super disc bolt is what i find hard to work with.

I shoot 3-50gr of 777 out of it with 250gr barnes expander and second load is 95gr of Pyrodex and 240gr .45 XTP. Both with winchester 209.

I think the bolt removal has changed somewhat. Mine you unscrew the allen screw and raise bolt and pull out . To disassemble the bolt, you screw the screw safety all the way, and screw out the bolt handle from the hammer.

When you say disc super, do yo mean extreme or elite?
