Sighting in my scope
I need a little help in sighting in my scope on my blackpowder gun,I'm hitting high and left at fifty yards, should I move the settings down and right,or should I follow the bullet and move them up and left to acheive the center of the bull?Thankyou.

RE: Sighting in my scope
At 50yds................you'll want your rifle to hit 1 to 2 inches high - so that your 100yd zero will be pretty close to the bullseye. If it's shooting higher than that, then turn the elevation knob in the down direction - probably 4 clicks for every 1/2 inch you want the hole to move. If it's shooting lower than that, then raise it the appropriate number of clicks.
The same applies to your windage adjustment. Run the knob to the "right" enough clicks to get the hole in-line with the bullseye..........again 4 clicks on the knob should = 1/2 inch at 50 yds with most scopes.

On this target the upper group of bullets need to move about 1/2" right. If the target was at 50 yards I would need to adjust the windage 4 clicks/marks to the right. If the target was at 100 then 2 clicks right
POA on the target indicate "point of aim"
At 50 yards this group might be a little high also so I would need to adjust the scope elevatiion down about 1". At 50 yards that would be 8 clicks/marks down and at a 100 - 4 clicks down.
The lower group should come 1" right and up 1". This 50 and 100 results might be pretty close to the same. The adjustment at 50 and 100 would be different. This all in the assumption that your scope moves in 1/4 minute clicks at 100 yards.
hope this helps
