Picked for CO MUZZY hunt!
My group of 3 guys was picked for the statewide bull muzzy season. One more guy should pull a cow tag, so lookee like we are in for a Rocky Mountain High hunt next fall! Can't wait.
They won't post actual results til next thurs/friday but I called and they told me we all now have 0 points after the draw, which should mean that we drew our first choice
Doesn't get any better than stalking bugling bulls in the great state of Colorado!
Hope you guys are as lucky in the draw

That sure sounds like a wonderful time. What regulations do they have reference the kind of muzzleloader? I read somewhere that they only allow conicals and then certain size ones, and a bunch of other stuff. Sounds like your in for a real exciting time.
Good luck with your elk hunt....

TXhunter - you will have a great time. I would expect that your season runs somewhere in the second/third week of September timeframe? I was out last year with the m/l and the bulls were bugling pretty strong. I took a decent 5x5 on the 16th of Sept (Tuesday of the hunt that started on Saturday) Bugled him in after working him for over a half hour.
Bigbulls pretty much summed up the regs....one thing to add is that Powerbelt bullets are legal, although sabots are not.
ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bluechablis: I don't hear anyone seriously complaining about the regs. What is your point? Don't want us there? I am an elk hunting addict and wouldn't miss the experience if I had to stand on my head when I shoot!
Whitetails: September 11-19. Can't wait. We are doing a drop camp about 5 miles in around Durango. I have friends that live there that gave us the location, and an outfitter is packing us and our own gear in by horseback. Will be my 5th time to muzzy hunt.
