Default Scope choice

I am buying a new scope for my Omega. I like Leupold and was going to put there VXII Shotgun scope in 2-7x33. Should I put a shotgun scope on it or a rifle scope?

Sounds like a nice setup. That is a good rifle and a good scope. Should be a real shooting combination

Do you think a Simmons 8-point scope would hold up ok? I got it new for $20, so it's not a big loss if it doesn't work out. I just don't know about the quality...

A shotgun scope will have longer eye relief than a rifle scope. It may work fine, depending on how the Omega fits you. You really need to test it out to see.

Hmmm, an attractive offer, but no. Oh, well, Could I put the Simmons on a low recoil gun like a .22 or something?

personally i would get a rifle scope. depending on how your gun fits you there may be too much eye relief. just my opinion

I've got a 3-9X44 Millett BuckGold on my Omega. Best $130 bucks I ever spent. Excelent scope and warranty. Only thing I wish it had was a Mildot reticle.

Wolfhound76 that sure is a nice looking rig. I bet it is a real good shooter. I have heard a lot of good things about the Millet Buck Scopes. Some other ones I have heard good things about are Sightron Scopes.
