how are you doing mauser....do you remeber me from my post looking for hunters in the northeast to hunt with....my T/C hawkens shoots great with 80 grs 3f and T/C 240 gr hp 45. sabots....1.5" @ 50 yds --- 2.5" @ 100 yds....so far my hawkens shoots good with the bevel up and set at about a dimes thinkness away from the frizzen and i got rid of the T/C's flints and bought some cut agate flints from this little shop by me....so far i have about 50 -60 shots on this one flint so far and have not even taken it out of the hammer yet....got the 4f in the pan down to the size of a flattened out BB from a BB gun....no shhh boom....just a BOOM....to bad you don't live closer i'd like to be at the range with ya.....................................bob

I don't believe you'd notice any difference. I have even primed with FFg, and it fired about the same.... Just make sure the priming charge lies below, not over, the touch-hole!
