...by sighting in with pellets and then using loose powder you had to get a different point of impact.
Actually he stated that he sighted in with powder and then tried the pellets.

You won't get a different point of impact with Pyrodex following the same procedure.

I am glad to hear that your Remingtom 700 ml does not get a double-bang effect. However, it is the first one that I've heard of that does not.

I've been considering 777, but I use the pellets from Pyrodex and get 1 1/2 -inch groups out of my 209X45 Encore and thats good enough for me.

777 2-pellet 50 grainers are equal to 84 grains of 777 loose (on average).
You mean to tell me that there is a difference in energy between the pellets and the loose stuff?

I am so sorry I bought this Triple 7 stuff.

It fouls worse (in my opinion) and is harder to clean, won't shoot in my Remington 700 but will shoot in my TC Encore, and now you tell me the pellets are different from the loose stuff producing a different point of impact if you use 100 grains of pellets (two 50 grain pellets) or 100 grains of the loose stuff.

That stuff is junk.
The reason they are differnt is that 777 is hotter than pyrodex. In fact 15-20% hotter, producing higher velocity per power charge.

When they started producing 777 in pellets they had to make them equivelant to pyrodex pellets as most new muzzleloaders are rated for 150 gr pyrodex max. If people put in 150 gr of 777 it would excede(by a fair amount) the 150 pyrodex max.

So they toned down the pellets to avoid a lawsuit.

My gun loves two 777 pellets and a 295 power belt. I cut my gruop size in less than 1/2 of when I was using pyrodex. Clean up is a breeze. A couple of spit patches and it's done.
