777 fouling?
I have been using clean shot powder(pellets actually) and was impressed with the results.Since I can no longer find the pellets,I decided to try some 777 pellets in my sons cva eclipse.I am getting some really nasty hard carbon type fouling in the breech club bolt area.Is this typical? Also, when I run a patch down after shooting one shot the 777 is noticably dirtier than the clean shot.Almost as bad as pyrodex.Typical?

I'll 2nd that YEP!
Nothing has proven cleaner for me than the CleanShot powder. The 777 may look almost as bad as Pyro - but it DOES clean out much easier than Pryo or Black. It's a good compromise......especially since 777 is about 20 to 25% more powerful than CleanShot - at least in loose powder form.

"So what's the best way to get rid of that baked on crud?"
An empty spray bottle with 50% isoprophyl alcohol & 50% plain Windex after every 2nd shot when using 100 grain loads worked well for me in my former Traditions inline and current T/C Omega inline.

Or you can use a "spit" patch, followed by two dry ones after every shot. That's what I do at the range, it keeps the bore and chamber clean, plus cleanup is effortless after your done for the day.
I like to swab after each shot this way. It provides the same bore conditions as you would have in a hunting situation. Unless your a bad shot....

RE: 777 fouling?
I use a spit patch after the 2nd shot at the range, but I have to be EXTREMELY careful not to push past the crud rind immediately. If I do, it takes a ton of pulling and the use of a pair of pliers to remove my ramrod and cleaning jag. I love 777's performance, but that crud ring gives me fits unless I use a decent amount of water to break it down first. I'd hopefully never need to fire more than once in the field, but you never know when hunting elk.
