Default 195 Grain Barnes Expander

This bullet that Scott sent was tested this morning. It was shot through carpet, fiberboard, and water jugs out 25 yards. The powder load was 80g Blackhorn.

The bullet toasted the front jug, and ripped apart the second jug. The bullet made a hole in and a hole on the backside of the third jug, but stayed inside the third jug after bouncing off the fourth jug. It now weighs 195.2 grain.

i figured this bullet would do 5 or even 6 jugs. Very poor penetration for a premium bullet. Thanks Ron

Wonder what would happen if the powder load was 50g?

Probably get one more jug in. Slower= less hydrodynamic force. It might not even open up if you remember a couple of the other bullets you tried out at the slower velocities.

Very good expansion and pretty good penetration for a non-premium-priced bullet. Midway has them today for 83 cents.

I believe the 200grn XTP did as good or better for less then 25cents a bullet if you want to get technical.
