.400cal 185gr CF from a .50cal
Okay, got to thinking today about trying this little combination. The new .400cal 185gr CF from my TC .50cal barrel with a MMP Blue sabot. This barrel is a 26 inch 1:28 twist. I'm thinking that 185 grain bullet would be some serious medicine with a 120gr (by volume) of BH. I've never attempted that far of a caliber drop from this barrel. The most I have ever dropped to was .451's. Just wondering who, if anyone, has given these a shot (yes pun intended) and how well they performed. I just ordered a box of the 245gr .452's Monday (should be here tomorrow) but I would really like to try a lighter bullet for whitetail. My shoulder will thank me at the range I'm sure I was also thinking about the 215gr CF but the guys testing them don't think 1:28 twist is stabilizing them. White sent me an email the other day saying they had a .50cal 1:24 twist for me that I could get fitted up to my TC platform. Thinking seriously about that too. Maybe then I'll try out the 215's!

I shoot the 40x50 MMP Blue Sabot in 50's quite often and they do very well. When placing the bullet in the sabot the bullet will not go all the way to the bottom but as soon as you push the bullet through the crown the bullet seats and the petals form to the bore.
There have been several deer fall to the Lehigh 185. And if you are getting the CF 185's they also have a higher BC than the original Bloodlines.
I personally have not shot a deer with the 185 but several with the it's big brother the 200 grain.
