Makes sense to me. The third group is more affected by heat, fouling, and shooter fatigue.

Well I don't get in to a lot of target shooting with Muzzleloader. I just shoot enough to "stay in shape" so to speak. Keep my muscle memory up for quick reloading and good off hand shooting. The only time I even "bench" my ML barrel is if I am developing a new load or siting in a new scope. Get it to where the ML is as accurate as possible. The rest of the time I am shooting as close to my field shots as possible.

I do exactly the same thing. I really hate bench work, and only do it when I have to.

I love to shoot offhand, and that type of practice is fun for me. I do it a lot. I'd guess 75% of the game i've killed has been offhand. The other 25% was from a knee.
