Can't believe CVA!
Can't believe how accurate mine is that is. My friend wanted to shoot his '06 today so I packed my Accura V2 and went along. After he got his new scope adjusted and sighted in I swabbed the bore with an alcohol patch and dry patch. Loaded it up with 100 gr of Pyro RS and 300 gr XTP with green Harvester CR sabot. Put in a W-W 209 primer and centered the Leupold Ultimate Slam scope on the 2" orange dot at 100 yards. When the smoke cleared there was an nice hole right at 12 O'clock of the dot. Swabbed the bore loaded and the second shot in the orange at 8 O'clock. Two more shots put the bullets one dead center and one just off the orange at 9 O'clock. Shooting approximately a 1 1/4" group I was starting to feel pretty smug because I haven't shot this rifle for over a year. But shot #5 hit about 1" right and 3" above the dot. The hold was good. Maybe the barrel started to heat up a bit not sure. But there always has to be that one flyer to ruin a nice group. But I was sure happy that my first shot on a squeaky clean bore hit perfect.

Many years ago, I did the same thing with a Black Diamond XR. A friend was sighting in his Model 94 30-30 and I had the BD. I shot three rounds at 75 yards and it was such a tight group in the bull. I was so pleased. Needless to say, his 30-30 did not shoot quite that tight a group. But he was shooting fast, compared to me.
I have the Optima and its accuracy just pleases me so much. It seems to shoot about anything I want to put down the bore.
Nice shooting with the Accura. I want to handle one of them if I ever get in a store that has them.

Dave I had an Optima a few years back and it too was really accurate. Not sure if it has the same easy to remove breech as the Accura. Even with the Begara barrel on the Accura I would guess that the Optima can shoot just as well (better than I can) with the correct sweet load for it.

If you want to shoot pyrodex, try Pyrodex Select. The Pyrodex RS has a lot of dust in the container. The closer to the bottom you get the more dust you will have in your loads, this will affect your shooting. The Pyrodex Select is sifted to remove all the dust, what you have left is a product that your last loads used will be the same as your first loads used. The granules of Select are all about the same size, and with no dust. Also when I switched from RS to Select my groups closed up substantially. With 100 grains of Select and a 430 grain maxie ball I was holding about 2 1/2" groups at 100 yards. At the time I was well pleased with that. It might even cure your flyers.
