I can not think of why they would not shoot from your MK-85. I must say I have not even tried that with either one of mine. I will have to do that at some point...

He got me with quatity discount, I bought 5 bags of the sub bases! Should be fun to try something new with different bullets!

Thanks for all the good info. This might sound nuts but does the sub base get pushed all the way down the barrel by itself, and then the bullets is seated on top or do they go down together. It appears the sub base does not fit onto the bullet at all but just as a pressure seal below it. Thanks again

You are correct - insert the sub-base in the crown place the bullet on top and push the combo down the bore...

The sub-base does not fit on the bullet at all - it just collects all the gas and pushes the bullet up the bore. The really nice thing is that in theory it comes off the base of the bullet a lot cleaner than does a regular sabot...
