Knight 209 primer conversion kit
#11
Re: 209's... I know alot of folks DO use the conversion (red discs) in the older plunger guns, most with 777 or RS and they like it. It essentially makes it like a disc extreme, and actually exactly like the new bighorns come unless you request the western kit.
I still use #11's as I don't really see any advantage of the 209 personally.

209 primers are easier to handle, and more waterproof than #11 cap, but with a capper the #11 caps aren't bad to deal with.
Nothing is set in stone with me, because i'm not sure what Tom is sending me. It should show up tomorrow, so we'll see.

Either way they work fine Muley. You'll like that gun I'm sure. Its 6 of one half dozen of the other (to me). I guess some folks feel the 209 setup might give some advantages like you said, but overall its probably personal preference. Out of all the guys I know that shoot knight plunger guns, its probably 50/50 #11 to 209.

Those LR primer conversion modules look interesting but i wonder if Knight quit offering them for a reason. In a sealed breach they would be fine but in a plunger gun they might pop off if the charge gets too high. They look like they would be heavier than a 209FPJ with a primer and possibly more dangerous if they flew off.
