Hard to believe a 1/2" hole through both lungs won't kill a deer. Does it really need to expand?

It needed to that year! Those TC maxiballs are hard lead it seems. That deer took 2 shots in the lungs and still went over a mile.

deer/elk don't have solid muscle and 3/4" hide like cape buffalo.

You missed my point. If the non expanding bullet can kill a cape buffalo. How come it won't stop a puny deer in it's tracks?

When a bullet is as big as a .50 cal. Why does it need to expand bigger? How big do you think a 30-30 expands to?

Muley the point is, with 2 solid hits in the lungs and no exit and a deer that ran 1/2 mile after the first shot and then another 1/4 mile after the second shot, somethings wrong with that bullet.

Something is wrong that it didn't blow a hole out the other side. 370gr?

What was the load?

I thought we were talking about the bullets you're casting now?

My bad experience was with the 45 maxiball, never used the 50cal maxiball after i had that previous experience, kinda like the hornady great plains bullet.

The bullets i cast now is why i was tinkering with a small hollow point.
