Yeah its a PITA as well. I used a tiny 1/16" bit, but its just to hard to center it and keep it center. Maybe use a press bit and just press it into the nose to form a light dent. Will look into that tomorrow, freezing out right now.

The way to center drill a bullet is to clamp a thick board to a drill press table and drill half way through it with a bit the same diameter as the bullet. Then, leaving the board in place, change to the smaller bit. Stand the bullet in the hole and drill the hollow point to the depth you want. Set the drill stop at that depth and you will be able to drill more bullets on center and to the same depth. You may have to clean lead from the bit after each bullet and hold the bullet lightly with pliers to stop it from spinning with the bit.

You can make hollow bases the same way.

.016" Headspace adjustment with the CVA shim kit.

I may set up 3 One gallon jugs tomorrow and shoot into them for good ol fashion fun.

There is no need to bother making a 370 grain Maxiball into a hollow point bullet. I think you will find that anyone who has shot a deer with one will agree.

I'm pretty sure he's going to use it on elk.

Yea, I agree. I took some into work years ago and hollow pointed them with a #2 center drill in a tool room lathe. Don't really feel it's necessary. The T/C Maxi-Hunter bullet is a round nose with a dimple in the nose similar to a shotgun slug.

The original TC maxiball i used sucked on game, lost 2 huge bucks thanks to them not expanding at all. I guess the HP idea was just plain ol worry do to that year. I know these are pure soft lead so that should help my confidence.
