Default New sight

I got a new Long Range Creedmore sight , 5 inches tall( up to 1200 yards) and some inserts for the front globe sight. Now the big question is do I want to put it on my 451 English sporting rifle or the 45-70 Sharps. I am leaning toward the Sporting rifle because I already have a mid range sight on the Sharps and I almost hate to switch it out and have to start all over again sighting it in.

I think you should get a new rifle just for that sight. Maybe a Gibbs or Whitworth.

Have a 451 Gibbs with a Pedersoli long range creedmore. Thought about a whitworth but dont like the hexagonal bullets

I love the 451 Gibbs, but it only shoots good with over a 500 gr bullet. I shoot a 538 gr paper patched sized to 448. Plus you have to change the nipples to a platinum nipple because regular nipples need changed out after 20 or 30 shots. The platinum nipples run about 60 bucks but are well worth it. I need to get a mould now because the guy that made all my bullets for it died last year of cancer. His family closed the shop and sold off all his guns and stuff. The 40 gibbs is becoming popular but I think the 451 Gibbs is the way to go.
