It is my belief that is the type of bullet (length) that needs to be shot from a 1-20. The Lehigh 40-200 should really do well also and of course the long heavy conicals should really work well.
Knight won the manufactures cup 6 years in a row with a 1-18 twist 45 cal DISC, then along came Doc White with his team and they won the last one and they were shooting 45's also... After that they never got back to holding the Manufactures Cup...
Where the problem may develope is when very short .357 or even short 40 cal bullets are used. Then the biggie... shooting heavy powder loads that cause the sabot problems. To much torque on the sabot trying to twist that fast with a heavy bullet in the sabot.
Del Ramsey has indicated to me that 70 grains of powder is really what he would suggest with heavy bullets and conicals. But we want the 45 to be a HOT gun and when the powder loads get above 100 grains you might see a loss of accuracy as the sabots begin to fail.
I took the Super disc out this afternoon for a test run. I have several bullets to try but only took the precision rifle QT's 250 gr . today. It is a 40 cal boat tail lead bullet with a plastic tip in a tan sabot.

I've shot and continue to shoot them, the 340gr Dead Centers using 2 x 50 gr T7 pellets and a Win 209 Primer out of my Omega. They shoot very well in that rifle. My Omega tends to like 300 gr on up for some reason.
