what percentage (cost of the gun to cost of scope) do you spend on an scope

As i write this, i have 4 rifle with scope. The scope on each of them rifle cost more than the rifle. When i purchase the Mountaineer, the rifle will have cost more than the scope mounted on it.

My four scoped muzzle loaders all have $40 Simmons 4X ProDiamonds on them. They seem to do everything I need done. But I seldom shoot beyond 125 yards, and never beyond 175. If I make a bad shot it's not because of anything lacking in the scope.
