Default My possible elk bullet!

Shot these out of the CVA Hawken with 90gr Pyrodex RS and the 250gr REAL at 50 yards into my sand bucket. Average bullet throws at 248 to 249 grains and recovered bullets were:
243 - 240 - 249gr

If they shoot good at 100 yards " limited testing so far" i will use them for an elk hunt. Just trying to figure out who will use what rifle will be the challenge LOL.

Why not the 500 S&W? More weight would be better for elk. Ron

i figured if im going to use a 223gr round ball on an elk, that 250 real will do the job just as good.

My self I wouldn't use either one on elk. A 50 cal PRB is too small in my book, and the 250 gr real is not a whole lot better. Elk are tough animals. Ron

Yep i have both the 250 and 320gr mold. I love these bullets to be honest. Its nice being able to cast something yourself and have it be accurate enough to hunt with.
