Default The Woodsman's here!

Doing the initial cleaning now. I'll head to the range this evening, when the wind dies. Will keep you posted.

Congratulations on a fine rifle. I have two of them. One a flintlock and one percussion. I didn't want the other one to get lonely. Need to keep peace in the house you know. They are both good shooters. I am sure yours will be also.

Okay, here are a few photos. Meant to take more, but someone borrowed my memory card from my camera.( gotta love teens)

shots of my range and 25 yard target. no close-up of the Woodsman, but I'm working on that.

The target is at 25 yards. The bottom group is 8 shoots with 50 gr of 2f Goex, a .490 ball and .015 prelubed patch. The group is a little spread out as I was trying to adjust for elevation, but not realizing that my initial adjustments did nothing because the elevation screw was set down to the point that the first turns didn't change anything. so, my final adjustment was 30 ticks up and my shot in the center was the result. Light was fading, so that was it. Next time I'll more out to 50 yards.

Looking good Johnnyo. I suspect those groups will hold together fine at 50 yards.
