Once you get a .45, the .50 will be in the classified.

Then you want a White in .451. It has a 1:20 twist . The Knight 45 has a 1:30 twist which isn't as good for a big heavy conical. There is a NIB Stainless/camo White Super 91 in .451 on gunbroker right now.

If you are happy with a 360gr conical, an Elite 45 will shoot them very well. Im still trying to get a few 405gr 458s to resize and try out but all of them ive found are too hard or too expensive.

I may try some cast a bit hard (12-15BHN) and shoot them a bit faster just to test them out. I still think the Lyman 330gr HP 457122 mold might be just the ticket. Bullshop will cast them in pure or close to pure lead at an affordable price.

Thanks Chet, but i do not want a White in 1:20 twist even though they shoot the .488 gr and larger very well.a Knight in 1:30 shoots conicals in the 325-400 gr range really well is what i am after. Ray

Ray,
That was not me. I shoot the uc shorts which are 440 grains out of my 50 caliber mk-85.

Art, i stand corrected, it was Underclocked that shot the .45 cal 340 gr groups.

http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/blac...their-45s.html .at any rate to me this is a impressive bullet for the .45 cal 1:30 twist and will put the smack down on any animal i hunt. the .50 cal 445 UC shorts are the next bullet, i will be ordering from Bull shop for the .50 cal Wolverine.and it also appears to be extremely accurate.the accuracy with the .460 gr NE in the wolverine is very promising also.this year during the center fire season, i will most likely be carrying the Knight wolverine with a peep and .445 UC shorts or .460 NE bulletsunless i can find a used .45 cal Knight somewhere at a reasonable price. i am in no hurry lol Ray
