That sure doesn't sound like a nitro based powder either. Oh well, its looking like i got more powder for the 4th this year. The white stuff sure sounds like it caramelized just like sugar will if you get it too hot.
I am still going to hold out some hope that the white stuff does turn to a dust and accounts for the while powder that you get when shooting APP.

I was pretty sure that it was not a nitro powder. I was just thinking they had refined their process to produce a better grade (higher pressure per grain) than the previous formulas.

At least one person has implied that it was and he got his info from a APP rep that said it was similar to IMR 3031.

You'll know what it is if it cleans up with water.

I really didn't think it had anything in common with IMR 3031 other than maybe weight/volume comparisons. There was always the chance though they found a way to add a small amount of a nitro type product to the existing formula.

Then it still could clean up with water.

Yep it could and Sqezer said there were two different size powders in it.... I wonder if they did duplex it and if they did how would you ever keep it consistent??? so now I am thinking they would not do that for sure...

Mike if you separated the granule sizes with a screen and burned them if they have a different base they will smell different. It would not be the first time some one that was going into the red to far did some thing desperate.

Thank you for your efforts. I will proceed with caution based on the visual inspection. If it is some kind of duplex, it can be very dangerous a bit too fast.

OK... a little bad news that I have found... And this is not first hand information... There is a group if folks in Pennsylvania own/or work in a sporting goods store. They have had the 'Super Powder' for 3 months now and had been shooting and testing it in their ML's. They have declared it unsatisfactory for their applications and have returned to shooting T7.

I still remain 'open' to trying it...
