Lets see how expensive Barnes are for me.

Barnes T-EZ $25 for a pack of 24.

Start of season..... 5 shots to make sure gun is still sighted in.

Deer and elk....1 shot ea if i'm lucky.

7 shots a year.

4 years cost $25.

If you're going to blast away at the range for no reason. Yes, they can be expensive.

It's a hunting bullet. Not a plinking bullet. Use something else for that.

you can always buy some cheap jackets bullets the same weight as your barnes bullets to practice with, but sight your rifle in with the Barnes and use them to hunt!! i am going through this with the 300 gr gold dots, which i haven't gotten to group good yet. if i can't i will shoot a .295 gr TEZ for hunting and practice with the GD bullets.just a option to help with cost. 500?

Packs of 50 are half MSRP and in the Nosler retail packaging. They are worth buying just for trade stock if nothing else.

If i could get noslers, it would be what i would use. as your aware of they quit making the popular M/L bullets
It sounded like you wanted them. Im not sure where the 500 came in at?

I mentioned the 500 since it is a discontinued bullet and if i wanted to keep shooting them over the years, i would need to buy a lot of them..i have bullets i am buying in bulk, but there not for muzzle loaders. that is where my bullet money is going in these lean times..without starting a uproar, let's just say there for a survival situation i see coming in the very near future.. I stocked up in the Clintoon era back when you could get 1200 for only $110 and commie guns for $100. They are still nicely hidden away just in case.
