Default slugged my barrel by mistake

I was playing around with some .458 homecast WW lead bullets I had laying around. put one in my 45cal win apex. I got it stuck just an few mm down the barrel. I could not pull it out. so. manual labor time, hammered the length of an short starter. pulled out an ramrod and pushed with all my body weight. about half way down it sled smoothly down the barrel. by the end, I let up to rest my back (pulled an 10hour day at work about 400 customers), started pushing again, the bullet popped out the breech area. picked up the bullet and looked at it, nice and clear groove marks. got an smile on my face come in grabbed my electronic caliper.

The BATTERY IS DEAD.

just not luck for me, gotta get one tomorrow.

never fails ... when you need them tools with batteries, they are always dead. That's why I like the plug in kind.

Reminds me, I need to pick up some batteries for mine... It probably won't, but if it happened again I'd think about drilling a hole to help get your bullet puller started. At least you multi-tasked this job

Corey, Next time instead of trying to drive it all the way thru the breech, pull the breech and put in about 10 gr of powder, reinstall breech, seat the bullet and fire it out. This is sort of what us sidelock shooters do when we 'dry ball' a load. Seat a bullet without putting in any powder. I personally have never done it.. But I think Semi does it about every time out.
