230gr XTP
Tried some 230gr XTP's today. Started out with light loads, hoping for a good target load.
So,
Triumph, 230 XTP's in the yellow superglides, Win W209's, Goex ff @ 60, 70, 80 and 90 grains. Distance 50 yards.
Here are the results I thought at 80 grains I might have something, 90 grains things opened up. Perhaps 85 gr. or 100+?. I thought the light/short bullet wouldn't need to be pushed to hard.
I swabbed between shots with alcohol/windsheild washer fluid (50/50)

Tried again with 230gr XTP. This time with BH209. Worked a load up to 110gr, which produced 2" group @ 50 yards. Not what I was after. I needed a ego fix, so loaded 350gr FPB's with 90gr of Bh209... 3 shots, one hole, 2" high at 50yds. I feel better.

If you get a chance you might want to try a different sabot with those 230 gr XTP's.
A lot of folks have problems with those yellow sabots.

try anything you have in a short sabot.what is the cal.? 451,452,429,430?
I have had no luck with super glides in my omega. The only time i have seen them work is when someone has a bore so tight that nothing else will work. That is just speaking from my personal experience.I have used a knight EZ orange sabot and a harvester short black and a knight short black. good luck johnny.

That really depends on how the 'yellows' load in your bore. Truimphs are know for their tight bores one of the reasons that the yellow sabot or the HPH-3p-Ez load sabot was developed. The other alternative to the MMP's is the Harvester 'Crush Rib'
If the 'yellows' are tight going down in the fact you have to use two hands to push it down then you migh try the 'Crush Rib' a lot of folks like them - I will only use them if I have to.
The next alternative up is the Harvester short black sabot, probably the best bet with the short 230 bullets.
Just my 2 cents... and in my case I use the HPH-24 in my Triumph but I an not shooting the short bullet.
What should I be looking for in sabots?
