Savage update
I must have lucked out and got a got a good gun. This is the first gun that has shot as good as my Knights and actually better than my Triumph. This was my second time out. I stayed with 100 gr blackhorn but tried some .40/.50 dead center sabots. i always liked lead bullets. I went to 100 yards and had a 1/2 inch group. I was amazed so i decided to try 150 yards.not as good as both shots were to the right. I made one scope adjustment and took 2 more shots. both were double lung shots ( using a deer target)and a 2 inch group. I moved to 200 yards , the wind was picking up so I moved the target so that I was shooting into the wind. I took two more shots using the 225 reticle since I was using a 100 gr. Both shots were at the top of the heart and a 1.25 inch group. I was amazed and hope this gun shoots like this all the time, I was shooting off a gun mounted bipod as usual. I didn't get pictures because the wife was at the fair with the kids for the 4-H auction and she had the camera. I can't remember he last time I had a 1.25 inch 200 yard group.
I definitely will try this load for hunting.
100 gr Blackhorn
winchester primer
.40/.50 Precision Rifle Dead Center sabot 260.gr
Nikon Omega scope
I still like my Knights better but I have to admit this is a real shooter, It outshot all my other guns including my Triumph and shot as good as my Knights without much experimenting with loads. The only question is will it do it consistently.
