The tc u view powder flask

The flask merely holds the powder. You need a volumetric measure to dispense the powder into. The measure is what establishes the volume of the load.
I do like the T/C flask for hunting - you can see just how much powder you have in it!

You don't want to load from the flask directly into the barrel!!!
A live ember in the barrel could turn a flask into a bomb!!!!!!!!!
Use the flask to carry powder and a measure to load the powder into the barrel.

I like the "sliding spout" (for lack of a better word) type of measure. Either should serve you well.

Thanks I guess having ounces or so of powder that will blow your face off right infront of your face ant a good idea. Maybe get some tube and premeasure them as well.

Tim,
I'm not sure if that question is directed at me and I'm not sure what you mean by the big one. Are you meaning the brass one or flask? I'll do my best to answer your question. The brass one can measure 10 to 150 grains (I think in 5 grain increments though you might want to check on it). Mine actually measures 5 to 120 grains in 5 grain increments so it is a little smaller than Cabelas' brass measure. In any event my brass measure can pre-measure any approved loose powder charge for most any rifle. I store them in vials like the ones LaneNebraska sells.
Regarding the flask, you really don't need one if you premeasure your loads for hunting and store them in tubes. The flask is for if you measure charges in the field. The mountain men, for example, had to carry their stores of powder with them whereever they went. The flask was a convenient way to store a smaller quantity on his person. It would have been cumbersome to try to measure from his can of powder.
On the other hand, if you go to the field with charges premeasured you just won't need the flask. You do need a way of getting powder from your powder container to your measure. They make spouts for that. A plastic one which fits the substitutes and there is also a brass on which fits Goex cans. The Goex spout is cool because it has a spring loaded valve on it.
Anyway, you only need a couple of premeasured charges in the field besides the one in your rifle. Its only going to take one shot to kill that deer. You will be reloading "just in case" you need to finish him off and only then if you feel particularly sorry for the animal. A well placed shot is sufficient and a second shot probably will only make his adrenalin keep him going longer anyway.
