I've always wondered if Ampco nipples are cut from hard stock, or hardened after machining. Whatever, they sure do last.

Actually they are not very hard as Rockwell or Birell goes but that alloy is very resistant to flame cutting. I would like to get some 3/8 round stock and do a bit of experimenting. Lee
