RE: Perferred patch lube
If you guys have a Dollar Tree around, you can pick up bottles of OO for $1. Sabot, just tell your lovely wife that when you're done shooting donw on the farm you pick up all the patches, add a little vinegar, some salt and pepper and have a pillow tick salad.

RE: Perferred patch lube
many use OLIVE OIL and swear its best.i never used it but if i used pre-cut patchs, that is what i would use.i am hooked now on cutting my patchs each shot at range.so, i want something DRY to handle ans so far i like the NAPA GRINDING OIL left to dry on my pillowticking.
some are taking 58 cal patchs and using in their 50 cal.they say you can center ball easy with bigger patch,i guess you could do that with pillowtick to ,cut it in bigger squares, lube with the OLIVE OIL.

I like Cayugad's method of patching a ball with pillow ticking. The ball has to be centered with his method. And that's what I will be doing when I exhaust my supply of cut round patches. Give me a good excuse to look for a fancy patch knife. (either that or steal the wife's paring knife).
