Here is another thought....

Look at this picture!

You guys tell me which bullets look like an aerodynamically designed bullet...

First two on the left are Nosler's .277/140 grain - 270 bullets... far left is a Partition, next is a Ballistic Tip...

The next three are ML bullets...

The bullet on the far right - the Parker just plane looks like an abortion - it is pointy but the body does not fit aerodynamically at all.

The second bullet from the right a 10mil/200 SW certainly has better lines.

But the best looking blonde of the all remains the Lehigh with the BT installed - but even without the Ballistic Tip it appears to have a more aerodynamic taper to it.

I know looks are not everything, but they certainly gets my attention first...

Look at that picture through the scope... The scope is on 9X and the camera is ran up to 3X - do you see the tangerine sitting right there on the rock? If dat tangerine were a monster whitetail buck - like it was when I squeezed the trigger it would be dead! But since is not the season for shooting whitetail it will have to remain a tangerine... That was a fun shot!
Well its not deer season, but I'm sure you put the shivers & shakesin a 100 or more fruit pickers with that information.

Very nice shooting there. Those groups are hard to argue.

Dave

Busta said they are 1/20 - that would make them ideal for shooten 10mils in a sabot....

sabotloader: Thanks for posting the close ups! OK... now I see what looks like a upgraded G-Series. Sharp looking stock !

What bases & rings ? I like those... more scope positioning options than the Weaver/Warne bases. After seeing your report and pics... looks like my .45 Whitetail will get to come out and play.. with sabots this time.

Mike, Thanks for taking the time to shoot these for me. Dave ran the numbers and the length of bullet requires a 1/24 twist. Of course your White is 1/24. I will run some thru the Savage in the morning. Great shooting as usual.

Grouse45

Hey it was my pleasure and an opportunity for a learning process for me. I enjoyed it... I am just to dang cheap to keep throwing those things down range @ paper, bottles, or Tangerines.

I know the math suggests a 1/24 but I still think you/I should shoot some from a 1/28 just to verify. What can it hurt? I am really thinking that 200 as it is built is a great looking bullet - but adding the the Ballistic Tip naturally adds length. And as I have suggested that may be exactly why the Barnes offering is 195 instead of 200.

If you do not want to try the 1/28 send me some tips and I get to it at some point.

Of course you already know it is not a big deal to me anyway because I am going to use the bullet as a hollow point for everything that I do. I just hope Dave is not forced to change the 200 HP down to a 195??? HP because of economics. It may not be to prudent to be trying to market 2 bullets of near the same weight.
