i can load a .018 patch on a clean bore but once the fouling is there, not a prayer! Patches sides were frayed. these are poor quality patches that im shooting to get rid of. I am going to just start buying bulk pillow ticking and lube myself.
My .54 is about the same...I use bulk pillow ticking that's .018 for the first shot...If I need to reload without cleaning the next ball has a .015 patch...If I have time to run a cleaning patch down between shots I go back to the .018...Groups are tighter with the .018 but for a quick second shot inside of 50 yards the .015 down a dirty bore is good enough for deer hunting accuracy...
