Thank's Chasam and all the rest of you's for your input. I have decided on 10mm 200gr XTP and 80gr of Tf2f, I'll see how that works for her and go from there, and mabey even the 240gr XTP with the same load +or- on the powder, I'll play with the powder a little. Im sure she'll be Happy with either one and I'll let you know how she likes it and send in some pics of her groups. Thank's to everyone for their comments. BP

I found some other data and plugged it into the database and got this chart for the 45 cal using 110 gr of T7 fff. But this is aHOT load for the 45.
You could cut this down to 100 or even 90 gr and get the results you were looking for I think. This is using a 200 gr 40 cal XTP with a .199 BC.

Never worried too much about muzzle energy: Justtry to putthe bullet where it needs to go to get the job done.Methinks that TaylorKO Value is a better measurement of the performanceoflarge caliber bullets on game.

That little old 10mm 200 grain XTP is really quite a bullet... can not tell you how strong that puppy is. I have not shot any big game with, Idaho has a minimum of .428 cal for big game, but I can tell it tumbles yotes very well and it turns peepers (ground squirrels) inside out....

I do not shoot80 grains but here is a ballistic sheet for 90 grains T7-2f - not much recoil at all...

Breechplug,

You'll be happy with the 10mm XTP (of course if you can get it to group well). Some turn their noses up at the light weight, but I've dropped deer with lighter loads (80 grains 777) and hotter loads (100 grains 777)- performs excellent at a wide range of velocities. No complaints here.

Thank's Mike, that's what I have heard also about the 10mm 200gr XTP. As we can use that bullet here in N.Y. I think it will be a fine one. The wife will do a little practice with some Chucks this Summer, she's pumped up! Oh, this is for the rest of the comments, I also believe (Shot-Placement) is No1 over anything else. I have taught my Wife (as she is also a Bowhunter) to aim for the middle of the lungs. A lung shot is much better than a heart shot. If too low on a heart shot you more than likely are in trouble. A middle lung shot has a margian for error, and a much bigger target. She is an experienced Archer and has also shot in the I.B.O. Triple Crown. We both believe in a quick Clean Harvest and nothing else, I just wanted some input from you guy's to see what's the smallest powder load used by most of you that works. As stated FPE does'nt mean much as long as the shot is where it's suppos to be. We both learned that long ago shooting Bow's, a arrow travaling 240fps will kill a Deer just as good as one going 320fps. I just wanted to lessen the recoil for her. Thank's for all the comments, they were well received. BP

breechplug, sorry about that chart. I don't know what happens to it. It looks ok when posted but goes whacky next time its opened. Sabotloader is right that 200 gr .40 XTP is a dandy bullet. I use it in my T/C Renegade .45 cal with 80 gr of Pyrodex P. It is very accurate and hard hitting. And it holds up well too. You can also buy MMP 40/50 sabots to shoot them out of your 50 cal.
