Anybody shoot lead bullets in sabots? Would a .450 bullet in a .451/.452 sabot, be too loose?
Yes, some folks hard cast bullets using lee bullet molds. Depends on the powder, with black powder NO, with pyrodex loose no, with pyrodex pellets or 777 pellets probably. With 777 loose no, with Blackhorn yes definitely. You can tighten it up by taking a piece of paper and placing it between the bullet and the sabot. That will tighten it up, one wrap around the side of the bullet. Also you can shoot a Red Crushed Rib sabot, made for smokeless, they are tight as heck in a .452, so they should be just about right in a .450.

I recall you have a Savage. All lead bullets like the Dead Centers don't shoot so well in the Savage. Hard cast could shoot good with the right sabot.
