RE: Why I Like 300 Grain Bullets
I've shot MLers for 10 years now and started out shooting the Knight all lead bullet in a Knight sabot, in 240g I believe. I killed several deer with that load and 2 pellets of Pyrodex, however I noticed that most shots were NOT shoot thru even on 30 yard broadside shots. I then shot PowerBelts 295g for a year or two and they didn't exit. I then switched to 300g Noslers and they shoot thru every time, the only time they didn't was when I shot lengthways thru the deer on a brisket shot.
I now shoot 300g bullets exclusively, and 300g Barnes Origonal in particular in my Savage, 300g Barnes Mz in my Omega and 300g Gold Dots in my Flintlock. I like the 300g, good blood trails more energey on the target.

I assume you are talking about the 200gr 40 cal XTP with a BC of .211 as that is correct the correct published BC for the 200 gr SW is .269 my own calculated with a chrony at 2300fps is .260 since I don't know what velocity they calculate them at when they publish them I find it expedient to do my own. This is why BCs lead to such arguments, people calculate them different ways and such and it's hard to compare different data sets. If (IF!!!) I get time this spring I want to run the drops on a couple different bullets I haven't tried before including the 300SW. I also need to rig a sabot shield for my chrony so I can verify my velocities again, it has been years since I clocked any ML rounds (dented my buddy's last time despite a sloppily rigged shield!!

The BC of a bullet changes with the velocity you are taking it at.
What really matters is the drop, as different elevations and even humidity to a same extent as well as the different ways of calculating it all change the apparent BC.
I guess what really matters to me is they shoot 2.5 inches high at 100 dead on at 160 and less than 3 inches low at 200. Lee
