Actually cold weather hunting is not all that bad. You learn to dress for it, and also as we get acclimated to the temperatures, we start to getused to the cold and it really does not bother people in these climates as much as you might think. I remember when my sister and her family visited for Christmas one year. It was -20ยบ and I was outside with a Levi jacket on. They had winter parkas and were shivering. Well they came from south Texas where they never got cold.
Granted, cold weather is a danger, but you learn to live in it. Just like the time I went to New Orleans and about died in the humidity and heat.. I have no idea how they can even walk around down there. I could hardly breath.
Good insulated underwear, wool socks, good cold weather boots, wool clothing, and always cover your head and ears. With a good set of gloves, your looking at a winter play ground.

MOEncore, that's a fine set up, my guess is they come in from the far left corner and let you blast em. I hunt in a forest and they come through so softly it amazes me how they do it with all the leaves on the ground.

GotBuck... yeah its a great spot. I am sitting in the heart of 570 acres and I call the area the cross roads... there are 5 trails that cross my line of sight and all within 80 yards. There is a small pond about 100 years straight in front behind some trees. My buddy who owns the land who has never hunted until this year got his first ever deer 2 weeks ago... it was an 11 point 157 1/2 inch beauty. Not bad for a first. There are lots of Deer... but they were not moving the day I was there... 2 days ago.
