Default RE: CVA and scope issues

Hoyt,

I have the same gun and bullet combination. I too shot powerbelts at one time. Last year I shot 250gr. Shockwaves. The rifle shoots all of them fairly good.

This year I switched to the new350 gr. Hornaday FPB's. I shoot them with 2-50gr. pyrodex pellets and LOVE THEM. I also put a new Nikon 3x9 scope on it. It is amazingly accurate and simply a killing machine. Obviously I had to change the scope somewhat as the 350gr. is going to shoot differently than a 250 gr. sabot.

My only problem has been getting deer to show up in front of the gun.....if they do and are within 150 yards.....they are headed to the freezer!

Another problem I had was I let my teenage son use it once and now he is in love with it and wants to use it all the time. I loaded it and sent 1 speed loader with him his 1st trip with it. He killed 2 deer with 2 shots....do ya think he likes it? He killed a doe at 50 yards and 1 at 80 yards....hit them both square in the heart!
