Default Blackhorn Experiment

The last time I had shot my TC Endeavor, it was eighty degrees. It was sighted to hit 2 1/2 inches high at 100 yards. I am going to hunt deer with it now in cold weather. I loaded it last night complete with primer and left it out side. It was 15 degrees this morning. I also left the loading stuff outside. Powder, primers and bullets. It is safe to do here where I live. It shot exactly 2 1/2 inches high and dead center. Then I loaded the cold primers, powder and bullets. They loaded harder. The sabotloadsharder in the cold. One inch groupincluding the first shot. I didn't chronograph it. I am happy. The load was 100 gr Blackhorn, 200 gr SW, cci primer. Not the mag primer. I was wondering if I would get hangfires in the cold. No sign of it.

Good report Lefse. A lot of guys were wondering about BH ignition in cold weather. Your results at 15 degrees should put that issue to rest.

That is good that someone did that. I am sure a lot of people worried about that because of the climate where we hunt.

I got two cans of that Blackhorn a month or so ago. It shot OK in my CVA but I really wanted totry it out in my Knight KRB. Unforunatly I have the domed breech plug. I hope Knight comes up with a solution. That KRB is a shooter and I'd like to try the Blackhorn.
