Snake Problem At Camp? Get a Cat.

For us that live in low population snake areas, and with the snow even more so... what breed of snake is that? I would guess from the size it might be a python or boa imported type that is now wild.. but perhaps you could fill us in on the picture.

Don't really know anything about the picture. It was sent to me as an e-mail attachment. It's probably been around the world three times already.
Idon't recognize the snake and suspect the picture is not from North America. Possibly Australia or Africa. It's clearly a constrictor, but does not look like any of our native constrictors, or even those I am familiar with from South of the border.
Anyway, I figured out how to make it a legal post for this forum. The cat's name is (was?) BlackPowder.

Not real sure of the picture but in Arizona we have a King Snake that is a constrictor and will take on rattle snakes as well as other rodents etc. It looks a little like that. I have had one at a camp site up in the rafters of the sun shade and it had to climb cement block pillars to get up there. It was after swallows that live in the rafters. I suspect if a can came after one it might just be able to take it on as they are relatively agressive when cornered. Arizona is definately not a low snake population area.
