That was amazing... I really enjoyed that. WOW that was a nice bull too. I don't know how you stayed so calm, but that really was something .

Eric,
You being a resident of Canada, can you just buy a moose tag over the counter for Bull moose ?

Cool videos Gelarson. What fun! I showed the second one to my wife. She said that's what I sound like when I get out of bed in the morning.

I am in the process of loading another video and this one was a big 50+ bull that was in the thick brush. I Alberta there is a small area where you can just buy a moose tag over the counter but for most of the areas you have to put in for draws. First year you are a 0 priority and then next year a 1 and so on. If there are not enough people putting in then they offer the undersubscribed tags on a first come first serve basis and this is how we got our cow tags this year. I have shot bull moose the last 2 years as my partners and I alternate years and depending on the zone can get drawn every two years.
I have bow hunting this zone and think we found a real honey hole for critters. I will be back in Nov to try to fill my cow moose and my elk (bull) tag. The elk are over the counter along with mule and white tails and bear. Wolf you do not need a licence for only a big game licence of any kind and you can shoot as many as you find.
Here is a picture of the wolf my nephew shot. I called 3 in 5 (yes 5) times and missed one with the hawkens before he took this beauty.

Those are some really impressive videos. I moose hunted twice in Canada, but never saw moose like that.. It was a pleasure to watch them.

That is just awesome. Are those Moose Alaskan Yukon? Sorry if I'm not up on my moose terminology. I think I fall in that catagory of all us muzzleloaders as we would like to try for one of these beasts before we die. Nice gun as well, what caliber was it? Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments. I called in another moose on Sunday to 20 yrds but I did not take my camera......slap, slap, slap.
These are Canadian moose and are often a little smaller horn and body wise then the Alaska/Yukon Moose, though bigger then the Shiraz moose that we have in southern Alberta and you have in the states mostly. My nephew saw a bull that was all of 60 inches and these are large specimens.
It is a TC hawkens .50 cal that with a 460 gr great plains does well on moose.
Everybody laughs at me with my tomahawk and possibles bag (purse) when hunting in grizzly country but I enjoy the rush and the experience of it all. We saw a sow and cub grizzly but they took off running.
I love hunting moose.
