ORIGINAL: gearheart

Side hammers are primitive weapons. They were all there was when ML seasons were first put in place. If the herd needs thinning extend the regular rifle season a bit. Acouple of extra days should be enough.
That would be wrong, in-line type muzzleloaders have been around since the 1700's, you ought to see the fancy in-line flintlock housed at the Tower of London Museum. They weren't especialy common but they did exist and in a suprising number of variations. It's all in the history books, all U have to do is look.

I'm in the same perdicament as Dave. Too many hunters have taken too many deer in certain areas of PA. This year I and my friend have purchased 3 doe tags each. Maybe we will fill one of them. Thing is - if hunters buy the tags and not fill them, maybe we can save a few doe. Cause there are people out there who will buy as many tags as they can and try to fill all of them just to brag. Then they try to give away the deer.
