Default 240 XTP Mags

Went to the range today and shot some 240 XTP mags with 90 grains of RS in my Omega. Was very pleased with the groups. They seem to hit very close to the same POI of my 300 grain SWs with 2 pyrodex pellets. Maybe I will try the XTPs this season. Pictures to follow.

I like the way they are constructed. I see no reason why they would not be a good deer projectile, even bear. Some claim they do not expand as well as the regular XTPs but I have no in the field experience with them to say one way or another. The main thing in your case is they are accurate...

I picked up some 300 gr XTPs (.44) to try with Harvester crushed rib sabots. As soon as it stops raining I will get out and give them a shot..

The 240gr XTP shot real well in the System One with its 1-38 twist, I have not tried them but once in the Triumph. Lee

I forgot to mention, mine are the .452 bullets. Anyone have any idea what the velocity may be with these bullets and 90 grains RS?

Beware of the term "Mag Express Sabots." This refers to the sabot, not the bullet.Make sure the packageactuallycontains the.452 Magnum XTP bullet.

+1 , they mike .4517. Besides that you will have better results with the regular one under about 1850 FPS. Lee
