Those are one of my favorite ML bullets.Nice report, I've never recovered one. They seem to just keep on goin' for me.
I love the rifle by the way!! I bet you could carry that thing all day.

BrushPopper, nice piggy! I also enjoy chasing those things around the desert. Yeah, locating them is the hardest thing. I've shot 3 of them - 2 with a Thompson Contender and one with ML - and the average shot distance has been between 80 and 100 yards.

The barrel is cut down to about 19" and sighted-in for 50 yds.
Here's another "Shorty" pic.
Not exactly a tack-driver, 50 yd groups run about3" for 5 shots, but I really made it up as a brush/truck gun and won't be taking any shots past about 75 yds with it.

That's a SWEET little gun you have there! Very unusual- I can see how it could be very handy in the brush at short ranges. Congrats on the nice harvest too.
Good terminal performance with the XTP - I shoot the 200 grainer at about 1800 fps - I wouldn't recommend pushing it much faster than that. I get really good performance at 50 - 100 yards, but I've had one fragment on me with a point-blank 5 yard shot.
