I finally bought me one
First thanks for all the help by answers to my posts. Its nice to find people that are willing to share knowledge and experience.
Cabelas had the omega z5 composite w/weather shield non thumbhole on sale and basspro matched the price so I ordered it. I will have to get mounts and I guess that I will use my shotgun scope for now.
Any thoughts on the following:
Here is a list of loads I found after a search on Omega. I cut and pasted several posts that had a load in it and removed the words leaving loads. I know this is not a complete list of all posts with load recommendations (that could take a while) but figure it would be a good start.
200 shockwave 110gr FFg 777 loose
200 shockwave 150gr Pellet Pyrodex
245 Barnes 90gr 777 loose
200,250,300 shock wave 100-120gr Pyrodex RS or 777 powder start at 80gr and go up
MMP HPH12, HPH24 and 3petel EZ sabots
I guess I will start with 200 and 250 shockwaves and 90gr Pyrodex loose since its on clearance at wal-mart.
After trying the 90 100 120 gr Pyrodex with each bullet I’ll try the same with 777 loose.
Toss out the worst of the two and move to the next bullet and repeat.
Can anyone help with these (MMP HPH12, HPH24 and 3petel EZ sabots) I’m not sure what they are. I mean I know they are sabots but what is different about them.

Skip the HPH-12 it is to thick for a Omega or a Z5...
The Hph-24 might work but since the gun is new the bore might be very tight in that case you might have to use a HPH-3p-EZ the thinnest of the MMP 50 cal sabots.... The Harvester "crush rib" is slightly thinner if you need to go to it.....
Check pg 2 of this thread for the two replys i wrote might help expain it a bit more...

There you go...
I just got a new Z5 also.. for the heck of it last night I ran a .503 bullshop conical down it - it went down really well - so next I tried a .452 and several different sabots including a .458 sabot bullet combination- they all went down much harder than the conical - I was a little disappointed... but I had not cleaned the barrel yet -- so it still had new gun gunk in the bore... I cleaned it today but did not try any sabots yet...
