UC: That is basically correct. If you picture the hammer stem coming up with a lump at the top. In this lump there is a slot cut that the hammer spur and firing pin actuater device which is really just an insert into the slot with a pin holding it in and allowing it to rotate enough to bypass the firing pin when depressed down and contact the firing pin when lifted up about 3/8 of an inch. I would try to include a picture but I have not mastered the picture thing for these forums as yet. Someone sent me the directions which just confused me more than the description I just made probably does you.

MLKeith is correct about the saftey. Anytime the hamer is cocked, the pivoting hammer saftey is automaticallyengaged and has to be rotated back into the firing position. That's done with just a quick flick of the thumb. When on stand, I just keep it cocked with thehammer saftey in the safe positon. I findthe hammer saftey no more of a problem to usethan atangsaftey on a centerfire rifle.

AHA!! Thanks for those pictures, Chris! Those extensions are surely more rugged looking than the one provided for the KP1, although the KP1's works just fine.
